Archive entry MM-CARSON-2026 documents The Things We Do for Love, produced for the 2026 Love Notes competition in partnership with Silverstate Storytellers at the Brewery Arts Center. Malevolent Mouse Productions joined forces with several teams for the operation, building the project inside a Carson City house and moving it from concept to capture under the kind of timeline that tends to expose how a crew really works.
INCIDENT REPORT
Project Designation: The Things We Do for Love.
Location: House interior, Carson City, NV.
Logistics: The challenge was physical before it was artistic. A domestic space had to become a soundstage without losing control of sound, sightlines, or movement. Furniture became obstacles, hallways became choke points, and every room had to be reconsidered for blocking, camera position, and crew traffic. The anomaly was spatial: the more carefully we mapped the house, the more hidden complications it seemed to generate.

The crew flow operated like a relay. Multiple teams rotated responsibilities, handed off setups, and kept the production moving through a lived-in house that was never designed for clean film logistics. We navigated practical limitations room by room, adjusting around existing décor, narrow access, and the small but constant negotiations that come with shooting in a real home. The evidence survives in the floor plan of memory and in the angles we managed to steal from it.

INTERNAL NOTES
“Love Notes has its own kind of intelligence. The point is not comfort. The point is to make something because the clock is running, the limits are real, and nobody is waiting for permission. That pressure strips things down fast. What stays is instinct, collaboration, and the stubborn belief that art made under constraint can still hit harder than something polished to death. [REDACTED] may be the part that keeps bringing people back.” : Field Report 2026.
REDACTED FILE SEGMENT: SUBJECT [REDACTED] OBSERVED A RED GLOW IN THE BASEMENT VENTS THAT MATCHED THE RENOIR FREQUENCY.

Outcome logged. The project was completed and delivered as part of the 2026 Love Notes competition. Supporting visual records from the set are available in the BTS archive, and the final film can be viewed here. Filed outcome: successful submission, documented proof of cross-team coordination, and one more signal that this local operation is connected to a larger creative network still unfolding off-record.
